M.Sc. Scientific Preparatory Program
If the candidate is not a physics graduate or if their previously taken courses are deemed insufficient, they will be required to take an additional year of the remedial courses listed below, which cover third and fourth-year physics topics:
Phys 302 Classical Mechanics II
Phys 401 Electromagnetism I
Phys 402 Electromagnetism II
Phys 411 Quantum Mechanics I
Phys 412 Quantum Mechanics II
Phys 421 Statistical Mechanics
Phys 326 Mathematical Methods in Physics II
In order to continue in the M.Sc. program, the candidate must complete the scientific preparatory courses with a minimum GPA of 2.5. If the candidate successfully passes the scientific preparatory exemption exam, they may be exempted from the scientific preparatory program.
