Double Major

*** The steps to be followed for students who will apply for Double Major (ÇAP) and Minor Programs (YAN DAL) in the Fall 2024-25 semester are explained below.

* If you wish to apply for a Double Major within the departments of our faculty, you need to obtain approval from your department's Double Major Advisor and the Head of the Department, and apply to the desired department along with your transcripts (https://fas.boun.edu.tr/tr/formlar/ogrenci-formlari).

* If you wish to apply for a Double Major in a department from another faculty, you need to obtain approval from both Double Major Advisors and Heads of both Departments, and apply to both faculties along with your transcripts (https://fas.boun.edu.tr/tr/formlar/ogrenci-formlari).

Students who wish to apply for a Minor Program should obtain approval from the Head of the Department and the Minor Program Advisor of the department to which they are applying (information can be obtained from the departments, in writing or via email), fill out the Minor Program Application Form (https://fas.boun.edu.tr/tr/formlar/ogrenci-formlari), and submit their documents along with their transcripts to the department they are applying to.

The departments will be responsible for tracking the documents, and after verifying that the documents submitted by the student (current transcript, approvals from both Double Major Advisors and Heads of Departments, and Double Major/Minor application forms) are complete, they will collect them in a file organized in the student’s name. This file must be sent via email to fefstdnt@boun.edu.tr or delivered in person to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Student Affairs Office by July 22, 2024, at the latest.

The physics department cooperates with the chemistry, molecular biology, mathematics and philosophy departments to offer a double major program to undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.00 and above. Students of all engineering departments can also apply for a double major program in Physics, provided that their GPA is 3.00 and above. This allows students to successfully complete a predetermined course list and earn a physics bachelor's degree.
Double Major Advisors: Prof. Özhan Özatay and Prof. Teoman Turgut.

Double Major Programs for Students of Physics

Any student who meets the requirements of the Double Major Program Directive  and the conditions determined by the departments can apply to the Double Major Programme.
